STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – It appears that the case of the Staunton man who was arrested earlier this year after leading authorities on a pursuit will go to trial.

According to online records, a judge set a September 2 trial date for Joshua Anthony Hinojos Grado during a grand jury hearing this morning in Augusta County Circuit Court.

The 20-year-old Hinojos Grado faces three charges, including felony eluding.

The charges stemmed from an incident on January 4th when a sheriff’s deputy observed two vehicles racing in the 1400 block of Jefferson Highway and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

One of the suspect vehicles failed to stop and immediately fled eastbound at a high rate of speed.

Hinojos Grado was eventually apprehended but not before a deputy’s vehicle overturned during the pursuit.
