The first of two meetings happened last night putting Rockingham County residents face-to-face with the Massanutten Public Service Corporation.

The sometimes-heated face-off inside the Massanetta Springs Conference Center was the first chance for utility customers to grill company leaders over their business practices.

Allegations of inflated utility bills have led Rockingham County officials to propose a take-over of Massanutten’s water and sewer system – a move the Corporation contends would have little impact on monthly billing.

A second public meeting is set for 6 o’clock this evening in the Massanutten Resort Conference Center.
