BRIDGEWATER, Va. (BC Athletics) – Bridgewater College women’s lacrosse fell to Marymount at home, 17-4 Wednesday night.

How It Happened
The Saints offense clicked offensively overpowering the Eagles’ defense throughout the game while forcing the Eagles to struggle holding any solid momentum. MU poured on six unanswered goals in the first period.
Four more unanswered goals came in the second period with a forceful offense barreling through the defense. Jenna Entsminger stopped the scoring surge helping the Eagles knock in a point with a man-up advantage from a green card. Then, the Saints and the Eagles went goal for goal as Paige Overeem connected on one from the quick feed by Addison Garrett. MU put up one more goal to make it 12-2 at the half.
Two more goals came from the Saints’ side, but the Eagles connected on another goal making it goal number two for Entsminger.
In the final quarter, MU went with what continued to work quickly getting out to open field and carrying strong possessions near the crease. Overeem put up another goal off a free position attempt and the final score stood at 17-4.
Game Notes
The Eagles finished with the edge in ground balls with 13 pickups to 11 for the Saints as well as caused turnovers with 13 to 12.
Another card-heavy game took place with 11 total penalties.
Enstminger and Overeem combined for four goals, eight shots, and six on target.
