MOUNT CRAWFORD VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) crews and contractors have successfully restored power to the majority of customers in the area after strong winds caused significant damage to power lines and electric distribution equipment over the weekend.
Preston Knight, SVEC spokesman, announced Monday that residents north of Harrisonburg should prepare for outages until later tonight. Despite this, SVEC crews made significant progress overnight, reducing the number of outages from 490 at over 50 locations to just 5 active outages, impacting only 17 members.
In contrast, Dominion Power reports no outages for customers in the Shenandoah Valley, though over 300 customers in Albemarle County remain without power.
