HARRISONBURG VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Monday, 6 a.m. – Sunday’s wind storm brought down power lines throughout the Shenandoah Valley, leaving, many without power. Dominion Power reported over 800 customers in Rockingham County were still without electricity Monday morning. 575 customers in Augusta County and a combined 35 in Shenandoah and Page County. Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative reported 3246 outages in areas SVEC serves, as of 6 a.m.
HARRISONBURG VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Sunday, 6 p.m. – High winds have caused significant power outages across multiple counties. Dominion Power reports nearly 5,000 customers without power in Rockingham County, 106 in Shenandoah County, and 937 in Augusta County.
In addition, the Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) has approximately 12,500 members without power due to downed wires and damaged equipment. SVEC crews, along with additional contractors, are working diligently to restore power, but persistent winds are slowing their progress. The damage is extensive, and full restoration is expected by 10 p.m. Monday. More specific restoration times are currently unavailable, and members should be prepared for overnight outages.
