ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – Rockingham County authorities are investigating what caused a car to crash into a home in the Port Republic area early Thursday morning.

According to a post on Facebook, the accident happened at around 3:30 when a vehicle went over the train tracks and lost control before running into the side of the house in the 10-thousand block of Port Republic Road.

The driver of the vehicle suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The occupants of the house were home at the time and not injured.

The post went on to state that this is at least six times in the past two years that vehicles have crossed the tracks and ended up in their yard or in one of their neighbor’s yards.
