HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison Head Coach Bob Chesney announced Wednesday the football program has added two more signees to the 2025 recruiting class as part of the February signing period.

The newest Dukes consist of freshman linebacker Lee Johnson and freshman cornerback Jamal Olford, as both will join the program following the spring semester.

Adding them to December’s 15 signees and January’s list of 19 transfers, JMU’s 2025 signing class sits currently at 36 individuals, 25 of whom are currently enrolled at JMU.

The 2025 signing class now consists of six defensive linemen, six offensive linemen, six wide receivers, four cornerbacks, three tight ends, three safeties, two quarterbacks, two linebackers, one running back, one nickel, one punter and one long snapper.

JMU has signed players from 14 different states, which included five each from Virginia and Florida, four from Pennsylvania, three each from Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Georgia and Texas, two from Massachusetts and one each from South Carolina, New York, New Hampshire, Louisiana and Idaho.

• Also a First Team All-Region baseball selection

Jamal Olford | Cornerback | 5-10 | 170 | Wylie, Texas | Wylie East HS
• 2024 Unanimous First Team All-District selection
• First Team All-District as a junior and senior
• Produced 52 tackles with five interceptions, 30 pass breakups and five touchdowns as a two-way player between junior and senior seasons
• Also a First Team All-District sprinter for the track and field team
• Helped Wylie East to second round of both 2024 and 2024 Texas 6A Division II playoffs
