Staunton will begin Phase One of its Downtown Tunnel Repairs Project on Feb. 17, bringing street closures and parking changes as crews start work on the Byers Street tunnel.

A massive multi-agency response battled a structure fire on Spring Creek Road for more than 30 hours over the weekend, using over 200,000 gallons of water and extensive manpower in what officials say was the largest fire in the Bridgewater area in recent memory.

According to City Attorney Chris Brown, the original resolution included terminating the emergency declaration should it find that the emergency has subsided.
