The RHSPCA will be in Charlottesville on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 1–3 pm and November 14, 2026, from 1–3 p.m. at PetSmart at Hollymead in Charlottesville.

Eastern Mennonite University is mourning the death of Dr. Myron S. Augsburger, who served as the university’s fifth president from 1965 to 1980.

Theatre at Bridgewater College (BC) will present “The House of Bernarda Alba” from Wednesday, October 28, through Saturday, October 31, at 7 p.m. nightly in Cole Hall on the College’s campus.

Bridgewater Church of the Brethren will hold the first Garden Grow Music Festival on Saturday, October 17 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

High school marching bands from across Virginia will converge at Harrisonburg High School on Saturday, October 10.

Community members will have the opportunity to be the driving voice behind the new Parks & Recreation Master Plan.

The event will be held on Tuesday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Boitnott Room in Rebecca Hall at the college.

The Harrisonburg Community Development Department will host a series of public meetings, an online survey and other engagement opportunities.

The RHSPCA will be out in the community throughout the week, with three community opportunities.
