HCPS Superintendent responds to Governor’s executive order on student cell phone use

Governor Glenn Youngkin issued Executive Order 33 today, which directs the Virginia Department of Education to draft guidance for public school divisions to adopt local policies and procedures establishing cell phone-free education. 
It is a move that pleases Harrisonburg School Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards.

RCPS board votes to retain several books, but removes ‘A Court of Mist and Fury’

The Rockingham County School Board voted to retain several books but will remove ‘A Court of Mist and Fury,’ by Sarah J. Maas, due to sexually explicit content. They also discussed a policy change that would ban student cell phone use in the county’s high schools.
