A former Rockingham County Public Schools teacher who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a student will spend 6 years in prison.  

Rockingham County School Superintendent Dr. Larry Shifflett recommended the approval of the 2026-2027 fiscal year school division budget at last night’s school board meeting.

Kymora Johnson scored 28 points as 10th-seeded Virginia became the first First Four to reach the regional semifinals after an 83-75 double-overtime win over No. 2 seed Iowa on Monday in a women’s NCAA Tournament second-round game.

Evelyn Rhoads of the Bridgewater College softball team has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week.
