HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — United Way of Central Shenandoah Valley announced more than 40 Collection Zones across Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are now accepting school supply donations for the fourth annual Tools For School back-to-school resource fair.

Donations can be dropped off through August 3. United Way hopes to surpass last year’s distribution of 1,813 backpacks to local students.

Supplies collected will benefit public school students in Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County.

Requested donation items include:

  • Solid-color backpacks
  • Notebooks
  • College-ruled paper
  • Ticonderoga pencils
  • Crayola crayons (24-count)
  • Pens
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • Highlighters
