SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah County woman who was charged with first degree murder has escaped jail time and will only serve probation.
According to online records, Elizabeth Keegan of Maurertown reached a plea deal with prosecutors during a pre-trial hearing Monday in Shenandoah County Circuit Court.
Keegan pleaded guilty to three of the more than three dozen charges she faced. The charges she admitted to include two counts of obtaining over a thousand dollars by false pretense and concealing a dead body.
In exchange for the pleas, prosecutors declined to pursue the remaining charges.
A judge then sentenced Keegan to 20 years in prison with all of it suspended and ordered her to serve five years of supervised probation.
Keegan must also pay over 12-thousand dollars in costs and restitution.
