BRIDGEWATER, VA (Rocktown Now) — Dr. William “Bill” Miracle has resigned from Bridgewater’s Town Council after 21 years of service.

The Council announced they accepted his resignation at this week’s meeting, thanking Miracle, who also served as Bridgewater College’s Dean of Students for 36 years, for his lifetime of service to the community.

The Town Attorney has reportedly petitioned the Circuit Court to request a special election be held on Election Day, November 3rd, to select someone to serve out the remainder of Miracle’s term.

In the meantime, Town Council is accepting statements of interest and qualification at the Town Office through July 28th from those who would like to be considered as a temporary replacement appointee.
