HARRISONBURG, Va. (EMU Athletics) – The Royals were back into action this Wednesday, as they welcomed in the Shenandoah University Hornets at home.

It was an all-around solid performance for the Hornets, who managed to score three goals in the first half and two more in the second half, for a 5-0 win.

Highlights
• Despite the Royals’ efforts, the Hornets would seal the deal early in the game as they scored their first three goals of the match within the first 15 minutes, with the first coming just 3:26 into the match.
• EMU’s first and only shot on goal of the match would come in the 19th minute when Maggie Ladd took a low shot toward the right side that was saved by Shenandoah’s goalkeeper.
• Gabi Dewey finished the first half with six saves, as SU took a 3-0 lead into the break.
• At the start of the second half, the Royals managed to hold Shenandoah’s offensive side until the 56th minute, when the Hornets pushed their lead to 4-0. They tacked on their fifth and final tally in the 74th minute, to wrap up the scoring.
• CJ Jefferson, who came on in the second half, registered three saves for the Royals.

What’s Next
