ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Another reminder of the various dangers first responders face when answering calls for help emerged today in Rockingham County.
At around 7:30 this morning, Battalion Chief Clay Shiflet reported that units were already at the scene of a minor traffic crash when a second incident suddenly unfolded in the same area of Fulks Run.
“On Brocks Gap Road, a car came up on the wreck, wasn’t able to stop, and impacted the side of the engine,” Shiflet said. “(It was) kind of a glancing, side impact.”
While the car suffered major damage, Shiflet reports that no one was injured in the incident.
A reserve engine has been put into temporary service while the involved truck is inspected for possible steering complications incurred by the car’s impact with the front tire.
Both accidents were cleared by 10:00 AM.
