A Harrisonburg elementary school is getting national attention for its architecture.
In a release, the national school staffing group ProCare Therapy announced that Bluestone Elementary has been rated one of its best schools in the country that was designed with inclusivity in mind.
The organization said that the school’s integration of special education spaces within core education hallways, its placement of student services close to learning areas, and the use of a central sensory room set it apart from other “inclusive” school designs.
ProCare added that Bluestone is able to foster this environment, despite hosting students from 60 countries speaking 58 separate languages.
