LURAY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Luray Police Chief Lonnie Foster Jr. reported that yesterday, November 2, 2026, the Luray Police Department became aware of serious allegations involving one of its members.

The matter was immediately turned over to the Virginia State Police, who are handling the investigation.

The department member died by suicide on the morning of November 3, 2026, while state police were attempting to execute search warrants at a residence in the Town of Luray.

Foster added that his department is cooperating fully with State Police and will continue to assist them as needed.
