WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE (8:30am): On October 7, 2026, at approximately 8:15 am Travis Harris returned home safely. Police say they greatly appreciate the assistance of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, other law enforcement agencies, and citizens who assisted in attempting to locate Harris.


Waynesboro Police are currently searching for a missing and endangered person.

Police say on October 6, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, 54-year-old Travis Harris left his residence in the 2300 block of Mosely St. in Waynesboro on foot, reportedly intoxicated, and made a concerning statement when he left.

The Waynesboro Police Department, with assistance from the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, is actively searching for Travis using multiple resources but has not located him as of this release.

The Waynesboro Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Harris, whose statements when he left last night have raised concerns for his welfare.
