HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – A season-high six goals in the second half propelled James Madison men’s soccer (5-4-2, 2-0-1) to secure a 6-0 victory over Mary Baldwin (4-6-1, 0-2) on Tuesday evening at Sentara Park.

After a scoreless first half, JMU broke out in the second period, notching six goals en-route to eclipsing the .500 mark for the first time this season. The Dukes filled up the stat sheet versus the Fighting Squirrels, taking 50 shots, half of which were on-goal tries. First year midfielder Ashton Khory led the Dukes with three points, recording a goal and an assist in the second half.

Chris Niblock led the Dukes in total shots, tallying eight in the contest, four of which were on target. Manuel Lolas attempted seven shots, five of which were on goal and found the back of the net once. All in all, 19 different Dukes took at least a shot in the match, a dozen of which had multi-shot outings. Additionally, the Dukes pitched a shutout for the second consecutive match, allowing just one shot through 90 minutes.

How It Happened
• James Madison broke the ice in the 50th minute as Håkon Rake punched the ball to the top left corner of the net. The goal was assisted by Daniel Bunk, his second of the season.
• JMU kept the pressure up when Lolas drew a penalty a few minutes later, scoring off a rebound after the shot from the spot was saved by Mary Baldwin. For Lolas, it’s his fourth goal of the season and brings the third year midfielder up to 10 points.
• The Dukes collected a third goal in the 58th minute when Lolas took a shot from outside the 18 that hit the crossbar and went into the vicinity of Carlos Cámara Tur. The Spaniard striker put a header into the back of the net to make it 3-0 Dukes.
• Ashton Khory scored his first career goal in the 86th minute, taking advantage of another rebound opportunity and putting the follow up shot across the line for JMU’s fourth goal of the night.
• In the 87th minute, Ryan Walsh delivered an outside-the-box strike that pierced the top bin for his first career goal.
• JMU got one final goal in the 90th minute when Jonas Griesbauer put one through to conclude the scoring from Sentara Tuesday night.
