AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office announced the dispatch area will be temporarily closed beginning today, October 6, 2026, through Tuesday, October 13, 2026, while a new floor is installed in the dispatch area.
According to Sheriff Donald Smith, the lobby of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office will remain open to the public during normal business hours during this construction period.
“For anyone needing assistance, a telephone system is available in the lobby that will connect you directly with our dispatch unit,” said Sheriff Smith, “Emergency services will continue to operate as normal by calling 911.”
The Sheriff’s Office asks for the public’s patience and understanding while this necessary work is completed.
