HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) James Madison University is heading into its fifth season of FBS football with another major milestone. The Dukes have officially sold out season tickets for the fourth consecutive year, continuing a streak that has spanned three head coaches as JMU prepares for its first season under new head coach Billy Napier.
The sellout comes on the heels of the program’s recent College Football Playoff appearance and reflects the continued excitement surrounding Dukes football in Harrisonburg.
Fans still hoping to see JMU in action at Bridgeforth Stadium this fall can purchase single-game tickets, though availability varies among the five remaining home contests. The Dukes’ Family Weekend matchup against Marshall on Oct. 3 is already sold out to the general public, with student ticket reservations set to open later in September.
JMU officials noted that the 2025 season marked the first time every ticket for all six home games was sold, and the program is looking to repeat that achievement in 2026.
Student tickets will be released two Tuesdays before each home game, while members of the Student Duke Club will continue to receive early access on Mondays.
The university said a limited number of additional tickets could become available during game weeks after evaluations of visiting team allotments, student tickets and group sales, though public availability is not guaranteed.
Fans are encouraged to download the JMU Athletics mobile app for ticket management and updates on all Dukes athletic programs. SeatGeek remains the official secondary ticket partner of JMU Athletics, allowing fans to buy and sell tickets directly through their JMU ticket accounts.
JMU opens the 2026 season, presented by CarMax, on Saturday, Sept. 5, when the Dukes host in-state rival Liberty in the Battle of the Blue Ridge. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Bridgeforth Stadium and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
Fans can also hear every JMU football game this season with “The Voice of the Dukes,” Dave Riggert, on WSVA 550 AM, 92.1 FM, streaming on Rocktown Now, and through the new WSVA app.
