WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Wildlife Center of Virginia has launched its annual online Benefit Auction, giving supporters the chance to bid on exclusive items and experiences while helping fund the care of injured and orphaned wildlife across the Commonwealth.

The auction is now open and runs through 8 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, Aug. 15. Proceeds from the event support the Wildlife Center’s mission by helping provide food, medication, medical supplies, and specialized equipment needed to care for thousands of wild animals each year.

More than 100 items are available for bidding, including original artwork created by the Center’s animal ambassadors, the opportunity to work alongside Wildlife Center staff for a day, and the chance to participate in the release of one of the Center’s rehabilitated Bald Eagle patients back into the wild.

“This auction is an opportunity for our community to come together and make a real difference for Virginia’s wildlife,” said Meg Gammage-Tucker, president of the Wildlife Center of Virginia. “Every dollar raised helps us care for injured and orphaned wildlife, advance conservation research, and train the next generation of wildlife veterinarians and rehabilitators.”

The Benefit Auction is the Wildlife Center’s largest annual fundraiser and is open to anyone interested in participating.
