HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Dozens of residents expressed their concerns during last night’s Harrisonburg City Council meeting about the city’s contract with the Flock camera company.

Before public hearing began, Mayor Reed moved the agenda item of City Council speaking before comments from the public to discuss the topic.

After discussion, Mayor Reed said that she was torn on the topic and continued by saying whatever decision the council makes; they have to take the responsibility of that good or bad and that the Harrisonburg community is in this together.

“We are in this together and I think that’s what makes Harrisonburg a unique city,” said Mayor Reed. “And what I’m most proud of being my hometown is that we can have disagreements, we can fight it out, but we’re going to do what’s best for our town.”

Mayor Reed thanked the community for using their voice and that this is the best decision for the community.

No vote was made during the meeting. The council said they would add it to the agenda for their next meeting on July 28.
