LURAY, Va – It is life in prison for the Page County man convicted of killing another man last year.

Scott Edward Simandl of Shenandoah was convicted by a Page County Circuit Court jury back in May on four charges, including first degree murder.

A judge sentenced the 48-year-old Simandl to life in prison without parole on the murder charge during a hearing Wednesday. For good measure, Simandl was also sentenced to 46 years on the other three charges with 20 of those years suspended.

It all stemmed from an incident in July of last year when Simandl shot and killed 53-year-old Jay Scott Campbell on Buzzard View Place.
