Fifth-District Congressman Bob Good has submitted a letter to the Justice Department demanding an investigation into bad actors who use artificial intelligence to produce explicit images of children.

In the letter, Good writes that he is “gravely concerned” about A-I being used to generate child sex abuse materials that are then disseminated on the internet.

The request is co-signed by 29 of Good’s fellow Republicans, including Sixth District Representative Ben Cline.

The group says that while they understand A-I can be beneficial, they ask if U-S Attorney General Merrick Garland has the authority to crack down on what they call a “growing issue.”

Reports of obscene, artificially-produced images of minors on the web have circulated since 2019.
