HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – High pressure will extend northward from the Tennessee River Valley into the Shenandoah Valley through the middle of the week, keeping conditions generally calm and seasonable. By Thursday afternoon and evening, a reinforcing cold front will sweep across the Mid-Atlantic, bringing a cooler push of air into the Valley.

Toward Friday and Saturday, low pressure is expected to track offshore of the Carolinas into the Atlantic Ocean. At this time, there is uncertainty about how far north its moisture will reach, leaving questions about whether the Shenandoah Valley will see any precipitation.

Looking ahead to early next week, a couple of clipper-like systems may brush the region, potentially bringing light precipitation and reinforcing the colder air mass.
