JACKSONVILLE, Fl. — Authorities have called off the search for the body of an Augusta County man who fell off a cruise ship nearly 200 miles from the Florida coast.
A 60-hour search for Crimora resident Ronnie Lee Peale Junior by Coast Guard rescue crews reportedly turned up nothing.
Security cameras on the Carnival cruise ship show the 35-year-old falling overboard shortly after four in the morning on Memorial Day.
The Coast Guard said it scoured over 5-thousand square miles of ocean before suspending the operation.
