HARRISONBURG, Va. — The eighth time was the charm for the preliminary hearing of the Harrisonburg man accused of crashing his vehicle in downtown Broadway after leading police on a high-speed chase.
Online records showed that Eriberto Ruvalcaba waived his right to a hearing last Friday in general district court, thus sending a drug possession charge to a grand jury next month.
Broadway Police say that the 33-year-old Ruvalcaba hit speeds of over 100 miles per hour during an early-morning pursuit on February 7th.
He eventually crashed in a business parking lot and remains in custody, although prosecutors decided not to pursue his other felony charge of destruction of property.
