DAYTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Virginia Quilt Museum is now accepting submissions of original fiber-based artwork for their “No Boundaries” exhibition.

Submissions will be accepted until February 2, 2026 for the exhibit, which will run from March 31 to June 27, 2026.

The exhibition asks artists to explore the many forms of boundaries – physical, geographic, or emotional – and to interpret a world in which those limits dissolve. Eligible work can be created in any medium but must include at least twenty-five percent fiber components or fiber techniques. Entries can be submitted at www.callforentry.org.

Internationally recognized artist Patty Kenney-Zafred will serve as juror. Kennedy-Zafred’s narrative textiles have garnered top honors at International Quilt Festival and American Quilt Society competitions, including the Masters Award. Named a Master Visual Artist in Pittsburgh by the Arts Legacy Project, she is known for combining fabric, dye, silkscreen, and ink to engage viewers with layered storytelling. Kennedy-Zafred will select works for first, second, and third-place awards, as well as any honorable mention awards.

“The museum is honored to welcome Patty Kennedy-Zafred,” said Alicia Thomas, Executive Director of the Virginia Quilt Museum. “Her commitment to innovation within textile art perfectly aligns with our aim to present fresh perspectives on fiber traditions.”
