BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The Bridgewater College women’s lacrosse team dropped a 22-8 contest against Shenandoah in ODAC action at the Jopson Athletic Complex on Wednesday night.

Final Score: Shenandoah 22, Bridgewater 8
Records: Bridgewater 9-6, 4-2 ODAC; Shenandoah 9-6, 4-2 ODAC

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hornets scored the game’s first goal at the 12:08 mark off the stick of Madison Re. The visitors doubled its lead after a strike from Emma Stiffler, but Kaity Petersheim responded 30 seconds later to make it 2-1. Annika Benson caught a pass from Aunnie Hacker to make it a tie game before Shenandoah scored three-straight to assume a 5-2 edge. Hacker found the back of the net to make it 5-3 after 15 minutes.

• The second quarter was nearly all Shenandoah as it outscored BC 7-3 as it led 13-6 at the half. In the second, Petersheim, Madeline Magill and Lauren Roberts all scored to get to the break’s scoreline.

• In the third quarter, the Hornets used a 6-1 scoring run to take a larger lead as Grace Pietro was the only Eagle to tally a score. The fourth quarter was much of the same as Roberts scored the lone goal for the Eagles with 1:26 left as SU took home a 22-8 win.

GAME STATS
• Hacker finished with a three-point night on a goal and two assists, while Petersheim, Roberts, Grace Pietro and Benson all had two points

• Magille and Faith Bartos also had a point on the night.

• Roberts also led the Eagles with four draw controls, while Pietro had three.

• Tavin Krick, Ashley Venit and Kelli Mullen all had one caused turnover.

• Rachael Robinson had six saves in 60 minutes, while Ashley MacFarlane stopped two shots in the win

• As a team, Shenandoah outshot the Eagles 35-15 and held a 17-9 edge in ground balls.
