Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving a bicyclist that occurred Tuesday morning in the Ottobine area of Rockingham County.

We are still working to get details on that accident. It occurred at around 8:30 on Route 247, which is Ottobine Road, in the vicinity of Dry Hollow Road and Clover Hill road.

Virginia State Police and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene most of the morning.

Sergeant Brent Coffey with State Police did confirm one person died as a result.
