HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Journeys theme music festival is happening this week from June 9-15.

The Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival’s annual week-long summer festival hosts performances on the Eastern Mennonite University campus and in downtown Harrisonburg.

This includes local artists, the Shenandoah Valley Chamber Orchestra, Baroque Academy Faculty, and Festival Choir.

The theme name is inspired by Bach’s famous walk of over 200 miles from his hometown to hear the organist/composer Dietrich Buxtehude, therefore the theme of the 33rd season of the festival is Journeys.

Tickets are on a “pay-what-you-will” basis, with giving options of $10, $25 or $40. All college students may attend for free with a valid form of student identification.

The festival concerts will be held Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 at Lehman Auditorium beginning at 7:30p.m.
