HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Professional Firefighters Foundation, established to support local firefighters and first responders in times of need, is launching a new initiative, The 100 Club, on June 13 during the 2025 Leadership Legacy Experience at James Madison University’s Atlantic Union Bank Center.
Founded through the efforts of community leaders and public safety advocates, the Foundation provides crucial assistance, such as helping with hospital bills, emergency transportation, and even home modifications like wheelchair ramps. Ryan Sodikoff, General Manager and President of Steven Toyota, played a key role in establishing the Foundation, drawing from his previous work with the Harrisonburg Police Department’s support initiatives.
“The fire department is there for everyone—and now the community has a way to be there for them,” said Sodikoff. “The 100 Club invites local businesses to donate just $100 a year, helping us build a reliable support system for first responders without the red tape.”
Contributors to the 100 Club will receive a 5×5 marine-grade sticker for display, symbolizing their commitment to public safety. The goal is to rally thousands of local businesses to ensure quick-response aid for firefighters and their families in times of crisis.
The new initiative will be officially introduced at the 2025 Leadership Legacy Experience, an event focused on leadership development and community impact. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Firefighters Foundation.
Josh Stephens of Rockingham Petroleum and Jordan Rohrer of Power Connection, who will both serve as panelists at the event, emphasized the importance of leadership training in business and community service. “If you’re not growing, you’re dying,” said Stephens. “Events like this help us develop the next generation of leaders.”
Rohrer echoed the sentiment, stressing the need to connect company missions to individual employee values. “Today’s workforce is just as talented as any generation before—but the environment has changed, and our leadership needs to change with it,” he said.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Mark Cole, CEO of Maxwell Leadership.
