WAYNESBORO, Va – Waynesboro Police have arrested a juvenile for bringing an airsoft weapon onto school property.

According to a news release, Kate Collins Middle School administrative staff notified the Waynesboro Police Department at around 10:30 Friday morning that a student reported another student had a firearm.

School officials located the student immediately and following a search, discovered that the student had an airsoft weapon.

As a result, the juvenile was subsequently arrested without incident and charged him with Pointing, Holding, or brandishing a firearm, air or gas operated weapon, or object similar on School Property., which is a class 6 felony.

The juvenile went to the Waynesboro Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for a hearing. Due to the age, the juvenile’s identity will not be released.
