BRIDGEWATER, Va. (BC Athletics) – The Bridgewater College men’s lacrosse team rolled to a 15-6 victory over Juniata thanks to a 7-0 goal scoring swing during the middle of the contest.

How It Happened
• Juniata struck first just under three minutes in, but a save by Gabe Wallman shortly after led to BC flipping the field and Ryan Linn finding Finnegan Pullich for the game-equaling tally minute later. BC put multiple shots near the frame, but did not find the cage. BC ran out of time on the possession clock and Juniata struck back to take a 2-1 lead. The teams traded chances until a Ryan Addison caused turnover led to a good clear and a shot from Owen Cogan that found nylon to tie the game at 2-2. The teams traded chances including a man-up chance for BC, but the game went to the end of the first quarter knotted at 2-2.
• JC scored two quick goals to start the second quarter and take a 4-2 lead with 12 minutes to play in the half. A win by Killian Krapfl at the faceoff dot turned the tide. Linn found the back of the net shortly after to get BC back on the board and Cogan followed shortly after to tie the game back at 4-4. The offense kept rolling as an Issac Beals tally right after a BC timeout put the Eagles in front 5-4 with 9:25 to go in the half. Bridgewater added to the lead at the seven-minute mark as goals by Pulich and Jake Wagner in under 90 seconds mae it 7-4 for BC. Juniata put a shot on target that was turned away by Wallman in the closing seconds, but that was JC’s best scoring chance in quite some time as Bridgewater took a 7-4 lead into the break.
• Bridgewater continued to roll as they capitalized on a chance with 10:58 to go in the third frame as Luke Wendler fired his shot to the back of the net. a Tyler Pinto strike made it 9-4, before a Juniata tally with 7:25 on the clock ended the 7-0 BC swing. Wagner found the back of the net two minutes later, but Juniata had a reply to keep it at a four-goal game. The home side extended the lead one more time before the end of the period as a Pinto shot found the back of the net to make it 11-6 after 45 minutes.
• BC wasted no time in adding to the lead as Beals cashed in on a man-up opportunity for BC to make it 12-6. Beals struck again at the 11-minute mark to make it 13-6 and a man-down goal by Pinto with 10:17 to go started the put the Juniata comeback hopes to bed. Alex Garbarino cashed in on a Juniata turnover with 6:29 to go to make it 15-6 and the BC defense stood tall to hang on to the victory.
Match Notes
• Beals led BC with five points on two goals and three assists. Pinto and Cogan tallied a hat trick, while Linn, Wagner and Pulich all had multi-point days. Wallman made 13 saves for Bridgewater between the pipes, while CJ McKnight picked up six ground balls to lead all players.
• Rueben Stoll had three of Juniata’s goals and Liam Walsh accounted for two others. Ryan Madison made 15 saves in the cage for Juniata.
• BC led the shot battle 65-32 and was 17-of18 on clears compared to just 19-of-28 for Juniata.
