The proposed plan to bring more than 900 “affordable-housing” units to Harrisonburg will be heard by city council hearing tomorrow evening.
During a 7 o’clock meeting, Mayor Deanna Reed and company will discuss, debate and hear input from the community involving the Bluestone Town Center – an 89-acre development planned for the Garber’s Church area near the Friendly City Trail and Bluestone Elementary.
Avi Fetcher represents one of the project’s co-developers. As heard on Early Mornings in January, he says the new community is justified by a recent housing study conducted by the city.
Opponents of the plan say they’re concerned about an unsafe increase in traffic.
