The two sides swapped two-point buckets, until a Bella Bruce three-pointer put RMC in front 7-6. Aylin Humpherys made a pair of free throws to take the lead back, but RMC replied on the other end. BC took the edge back as Jaiden Polston completed the old-school three-point play and a Jaden Alsberry bucket gave BC a 13-9 advantage. The Yellow Jackets scored at the buzzer to make it a 13-11 game after the opening quarter.
• RMC struck first to open the second quarter and evened the game before both teams traded old-fashioned three-point plays. • The Yellow Jackets opened the second half with a make from deep range, but a Jay Garcia bucket kept BC in front. The home side knocked down another three-pointer and went on a tear. RMC went on a 17-2 run in total as BC scored once over the next 4:15 and the Yellow Jackets stretched their advantage to 52-37 with 2:50 to play in the quarter. BC got back on the board with a Polston make at the line and five points followed from Gentry to cut the gap down to 52-43 heading to the fourth quarter.
• The teams traded scores out the short break with RMC getting the better of the exchange and stretching its lead to 59-46 with 8:44 to play. Out of a timeout, BC turned it on starting with a Humpherys three-pointer. Alsberry knocked down a jumper and Humpherys laid it in at the hoop to complete the 7-0 run and slice the lead to two possessions at 59-53 with 7:17 to play. Randolph-Macon got back on the board with a three-point play, but Humpherys had a clutch pair of makes to cut the lead back down to seven. Back-to-back scores by the Yellow Jakcets extended the lead back to double digits before a pair of makes at the charity stripe by Riley Corcoran. The teams traded free throws before an RMC three-pointer swelled the lead to 71-59 with 1:35 to play. Corcoran made another pair at the line and BC got the turnover it needed and a pair of makes by Garcia at the line followed to close the difference to eight points with 42 seconds to play, but the damage had already been done.
