WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a man on multiple warrants for possession of child pornography.

37-year-old Robert Oaky Lafferty Jr. of Waynesboro was arrested on twelve felony warrants for possession of child pornography.

Waynesboro detectives initiated an investigation after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an individual suspected of possessing child pornography within the City of Waynesboro. Following a thorough preliminary investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on January 31, 2025 at approximately 11:02am at a residence located in the 1800 block of Monticello Street.

As a result of the search, evidence was collected, leading to the arrest of Lafferty Jr. on twelve felony charges. Lafferty Jr. is currently being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
