HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison women’s basketball held Saint Peter’s to 32 points, the fewest points scored by a Division I opponent in Atlantic Union Bank Center history, in a 73-32 triumph on Wednesday night.

JMU (5-1) did not allow the Peacocks (0-4) to register any points in the second quarter and finished with a 22.4 percent clip (11-of-49) from the field.

Five Dukes scored in double figures for the second game in a row, led by Peyton McDaniel with 13 points, followed by Jamia Hazell (12), Ro Scott (12), Ashanti Barnes (10) and Bree Robinson (10). McDaniel tied for the game-high in rebounds (7) and steals (3), while Hazell grabbed a season-high six boards. Barnes tied her season best of seven rebounds, while Zakiya Stephenson finished with seven points and a game-high four assists. Robinson set career highs in points (10) and rebounds (4), and tied her career best in steals (3).

Laila Grant paced the Peacocks with 11 points to go along with four rebounds, while Layla Laws added six points and a team-best seven rebounds.

How It Happened
First Quarter – Saint Peter’s 15, JMU 13
• Saint Peter’s jumped out to a 6-0 lead after hitting back-to-back three-pointers.
• JMU tied the game with 3:04 remaining after Scott knocked down a triple to make it 11-11.

Second Quarter – JMU 34, Saint Peter’s 15
• The Dukes took their first lead of the game after Annalicia Goodman converted on an and-one, putting them up 18-15, at the 7:07 mark.
• JMU went on a 21-0 run with six players scoring, while the Peacocks went 0-for-12 from the field for zero points in the frame.

Third Quarter – JMU 47, Saint Peter’s 21
• The Peacocks opened up the scoring with two free throws, marking their first points since the 0:21 mark of the first quarter.
• The Dukes’ defense was strong, holding the Peacocks to only six points in the third period, making just 1-of-12 field goals (.083), while JMU shot 7-of-16 (.444).

Fourth Quarter – JMU 73, Saint Peter’s 32
• Robinson’s and-one and three-pointer helped the Dukes build their largest lead of the game, a 41-point advantage (71-30). The sophomore scored all 10 of her points in the frame, shooting 4-of-6 (.667).
• Hazell added six points in the quarter, including a buzzer-beater in the final second to seal the 73-32 victory.

Game Notes
• James Madison held Saint Peter’s scoreless in the second quarter, the first time the Dukes have held an opponent to zero in a quarter since the first quarter against Robert Morris on Dec. 29, 2019.
• JMU also shot 50.9 percent (28-of-55) from the field, the first time the team has reached the fifty-percent mark since shooting 50.9 percent (27-for-53) against Marshall on March 11, 2024.
• Five Dukes scored in double-digits for the second consecutive and third overall game this season. The team achieved the same feat against Loyola Maryland (Nov. 7) and Gardner-Webb (Nov. 17).
• JMU held an advantage over the Peacocks in points in the paint (38-8), points off turnovers (25-4), bench points (24-8), fast break points (16-0) and second chance points (10-2).
• The Dukes’ 41-point triumph was their biggest margin of victory thus far in the 2024-25 campaign.
