DALLAS (JMU Athletics) – James Madison outfielder Fenwick Trimble was recognized as a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Second Team All-American, as the organization announced its 2024 All-America teams on Wednesday afternoon.

The 17th All-American in program history, the junior becomes the first JMU player tabbed to an All-America team since Jake Lowery and David Herbek in 2011, as both were selected to a plethora of teams in 2011, which included the NCBWA.

Trimble led the team in batting average (.369), on-base percentage (.452), on-base plus slugging percentage (1.087), doubles (21), RBI’s (65), runs scored (71), hits (90), total bases (155) and at bats (244), while finishing second in slugging percentage (.635) and stolen bases (16) and third in homers (14). His marks for at bats, hits, runs scored and total bases are all the most a Dukes player has recorded since 2011, in addition to the most RBI’s since 2013.

A First Team All-Sun Belt selection, Trimble made his mark in the JMU single-season record books during 2024, finishing third in runs scored, sixth in at bats, tied for sixth in hits, seventh in total bases, ninth in doubles and tied for 10th in RBI’s.

His 21-double season marks the 14th 20-double season in program history, as he accomplished the feat last season as well. He now becomes the second player at JMU to record back-to-back 20-double seasons and just the third to record multiple seasons with 20 doubles. He also becomes the third Duke to score more than 70 runs in a season.

In addition to the single-season record books, Trimble moved up to a tie for sixth in career doubles (55) and a tie for seventh in career home runs (34) at JMU.
