HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – Bree Robinson has signed a financial aid agreement to join the James Madison women’s basketball program for the upcoming season, as announced by Head Coach Sean O’Regan.

The 5-8 guard spent her freshman year at Michigan State where she appeared in 17 contests, averaging 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.7 minutes per game. The Mississauga, Ont. native scored a career-high eight points against Evansville (11/19), knocking down a pair of threes and dishing out four assists. Robinson tied her career-high of three rebounds to go along with four points versus Central Michigan (12/17) in 17 minutes of action. The Spartans finished with a 22-9 overall record, including a 12-6 mark in Big Ten play – good for fourth in the league – and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship as a No. 9 seed.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Bree join our family,” said O’Regan. “She is everything you want in a student-athlete. She will help us instantly! Our community is really going to love who she is as a person and as a player.”

Prior to her time in East Lansing, Mich., Robinson played at The Webb School (Tenn.), where she helped her team capture its third consecutive TSSAA DII-A state title and earned a spot on the all-tournament team during her senior campaign. That season, she also became a candidate for Tennessee Girls Basketball Athlete of the Year. Robinson served as captain for Team Canada, playing in the U16 FIBA Americas in 2021, and coming away with a silver medal. A dual-sport athlete, Robinson claimed a track & field state championship title in the 400-meter dash.

Robinson will join fellow transfers Ro Scott (Marshall) and Zakiya Stephenson (Ole Miss), and freshmen Alonna Poole and Angela Williams for next year’s campaign.
