Rockingham County extends burn ban until Monday at 4pm.
The U-S Forest Service says it is sending in a team of specialists this weekend to help battle the wildfires still burning across the area.
The Rockingham County Department of Fire and Rescue will extend the ban on open burning through Saturday, March 23 at 4 p.m..
Multiple fires were reported in Rockingham, Page, Shenandoah and Page and Albemarle County and led to the issuance of states of emergency in many areas. Several roads were closed due to the fires and downed trees in some areas.
