WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Waynesboro Police officer convicted of on-duty crimes committed a year ago has received his sentence.
According to online records, former Corporal Jacob Moore was sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of supervised probation on Wednesday in Waynesboro Circuit Court.
The 31-year-old Moore was convicted of Felony Assault and Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer three months ago.
Moore and Officer Joseph Meadows were arrested in April of 2025 following an incident in the southern end of the city.
Meadows reached a plea deal with prosecutors back in March and received a deferred disposition.
