WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — One of the two Waynesboro Police officers who were accused of on-duty crimes last year was found guilty on one of the two charges he faced.

According to online records, a jury convicted Corporal Jacob Moore of felony assault of a law enforcement officers during a trial yesterday in Waynesboro Circuit Court.

However, the jury acquitted him of felony removing a stun gun from a law enforcement officer.

Moore and Officer Joseph Meadows were arrested last April following an incident in the southern end of the city.

Meadows reached a plea deal with prosecutors last month and received a deferred disposition.

Moore will be sentenced on July 15th.
