WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — Waynesboro Police are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death.

Officials say that on Friday, September 12, at approximately 2:25 PM, officers responded to a residence located at 2001 W Main Street to conduct a welfare check.

Upon entering the home, officers discovered a deceased male, who has been identified as Michael H. Capaccio, 68, of Staunton, Virginia.

At this time, the Waynesboro Police Department is actively investigating the incident as a suspicious death.

Police say there is no immediate threat to the community, and no further information is being released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
