WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A local pastor has thrown his name into the ring in the race to represent Ward C on the Waynesboro School Board.

Dr. Kelvin Washington, a Waynesboro High School graduate, has announced his intentions to challenge incumbent Debra Freeman-Bell for the seat in the November 3rd election.

Washington is also a former Waynesboro High School soccer coach and currently teaches courses at Memphis City Seminary, Liberty University, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Washington stated that education is key to helping students unlock how to engage in this world so they can be successful and impactful citizens.
