SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — A flipped vehicle snarled traffic on Route 211 this morning, August 5, 2026, in Shenandoah County.
At around 7:30 AM, Courtney Cave, Deputy Chief of Operations at Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue, said units were dispatched to Runaway Lane and East Lee Highway.
“Dispatched for a van that had overturned and was on its top over the embankment,” Cave said. “His vehicle was approximately ten to fifteen feet down the embankment.”
Virginia State Police Spokesman Matt Demlein reports that the work van went off the right side of the road, struck a tree, and rolled over.
Both directions of Route 211 were shut down for 10 to 15 minutes to allow crews to remove the vehicle from the site of the crash and clear the scene.
The driver was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
No one was injured in the incident.
