AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Valley Academy Regional Alternative School teacher’s aide with indecent liberties with a child.

Sheriff Donald Smith said in December of 2024, an investigation was launched about inappropriate sexual relations after receiving a referral from Child Protective Services (CPS).

The investigation focused on allegations of an inappropriate sexual relationship between a teacher’s aide at Valley Academy Regional Alternative School and a student. As the investigation progressed, it was determined that multiple inappropriate relationships between a female teacher’s aide and male students occurred. The inappropriate relationships occurred off campus.

The teacher’s aide was identified as 23-year-old Beyonce Milagro Mass of Staunton. Once identified, Mass was removed from the school system and is no longer employed.

On Tuesday, May 27, the Augusta County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Mass with two counts of Indecent Liberties with a child by custodian. The following day, May 28, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mass, and took her into custody without incident. She is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

This case remains under active investigation.
