HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – A Harrisonburg teenager was severely injured in Tuesday’s (3/31) crash on Spotswood Trail in Rockingham County.

Virginia State Police Sergeant Jessica Shehan reported that the incident occurred at around 5:15am in the Penn Laird area.

“A 2000 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Route 33, near Cross Keys Road, when it ran off of the right side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned multiple times. ”

The driver, 19-year-old Cayden Perez, of Harrisonburg, was ejected from the vehicle and taken to Sentara RMH for treatment.

Speed is being looked at as a factor in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
